Appointment system changes:
One of the biggest challenges facing all GP surgeries today is trying to meet the appointment demands of all its patients. As a result we are making a series of changes to try to establish an appointment system that meets the requirements of our practice population.
There may be further changes in the future however we are trying to ensure we have a system whereby on the day and pre-bookable appointments are readily available to meet these needs
If you need to see a doctor for a medical emergency, you will always be seen on the day.
Please tell the receptionist if you feel your problem is medical emergency.
Directly bookable GP clinic appointments:
A number of pre-bookable appointments for the GPs are available 4 weeks in advance for patients wanting to book specific dates.
We release GP appointments nearer to the day for those patients needing to see a GP within a few days.
We then have a number of on the day appointments available.
Urgent appointments needed on the day:
Each day of opening we have appointments for urgent medical issues. These are available if self care, pharmacy & NHS111 care has been exhausted of not applicable. We have 2 key times when appointments are available; 8am for morning slots & 1:15pm for afternoon slots. They are usually a mix of GP & Advance Practitioner clinics.
Pre-bookable GP telephone consultations:
Telephone consultations can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance with a GP.
Text Reminder Service:
Beech House Surgery now offers an automated text reminder service for your upcoming appointment booked in at the surgery.
As long as we have your up to date mobile number on our records we will notify you of your upcoming appointment 1 week before & also 1 day before it takes place.
Please note that appointments booked on the day will not receive a reminder message.
